About Emily
Emily graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in May 2020. She has experience working as a registered nurse in both a hospital intensive care unit and a community health center, where she had multiple opportunities to care for IBD patients of all ages. These experiences have given her a thorough medical understanding of IBD, which she draws upon in her work with IBD Connect. Emily serves as Media Director for IBD Connect, overseeing the organization’s website and social media platforms, as well as writing blog posts that explore how IBD affects individuals physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally. She is particularly passionate about creating content that supports and encourages families and individuals affected by IBD. In her personal life, Emily is a wife and mother to two young sons. As a family, they enjoy reading, hiking, and spending time outdoors together.
